Mother-Daughter Time, The Best Mom Time

There is Nothing Like It!

One of my favorite things is when my mom comes to visit me while I am away at school. Facetiming and texting just don’t cut it sometimes and eventually, I need some quality time and a hug from my mom. While the family weekend is great, having quality one-on-one time with your mom is the best and so special. There is so much to do and plenty of great shopping to get in while she visits or during a mother-daughter weekend!

Being so close to the capital of the country has its perks and being able to go to D.C. whenever you like is the best. From walking around and sight-seeing at the monuments to the shopping, there is so much to do and see while in town. One of the places I brought my mom when she visited for the first time was Georgetown. Georgetown is a charming town that is home to cobblestone streets, great food, and cute shops and boutiques. Having lunch at one of the waterfront restaurants is a must, I recommend Farmers Fishers Bakers or Sequoia! After lunch, I love walking around the gorgeous town and checking out the shops. They have stores such as Anthropologie, Aritzia, Free People, Brandy Melville, South Moon Under, and much more.

Another place I love to go with my mom is Bethesda Row. There are so many great shops, restaurants, and salons. They have stores including the Apple store, Francesca’s, and Lululemon. Another great activity to do with your mom is to get your nails or hair done! They have several places to choose from which is always great- we’ve got some great suggestions. If you are looking to stay closer to campus, I recommend going to the shopping center down Baltimore Road. In that plaza is a great nail salon, Bella Lifestyle, that is my go-to nail place. After nails, I would recommend going to eat at Burtons Grill. That is one of my favorite places to eat in College Park hands down; you can’t go wrong with ordering anything on the menu. After eating, you can go to the Starbucks in the plaza for coffee and then end the day at whole foods stocking up on some snacks and goodies.

Appreciate and cherish the time you have together when your mom visits! It is so special and meaningful to have her visit you in your favorite place and have her fall in love with College Park just as much as you do. Pass on these great tips, tell your friends and like us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.
