Setting a Mother’s Day Brunch Table That Says “You Are Loved”
There’s something truly special about creating a space that feels intentional and full of love, especially for Mother’s Day. This year, I designed a brunch table that’s sweet, floral, and overflowing with little reminders of what Mom means to us. My vision is to celebrate mom with flowers.
A Backdrop That Floats Like a Dream
Behind the table, a floating floral backdrop adds lightness and a touch of magic. It’s soft and airy and ties the whole table together without overwhelming it. Floating flowers are this year’s trend, popular with large-scale events like weddings and more intimate settings. It is easy to make. All you need is clear illusion cord or fishing wire and artificial flowers. Michael’s is where I buy my flowers. Thread the cord through each flower. Each hanging I made only required four flowers. Space them out and apply glue to the cord where it enters and exits the flower. Let it dry, and you’ll have your hanging flower. I love DIY’ing, and this was easy to make. Here is a video I used to create mine.
A Mother’s Day Table That Celebrates Her with Flowers
Once the backdrop is in place, it’s time to tie it in with the table setting. Start with a soft pastel-striped table runner to ground the look.. Next, set each place setting. The Kate Aspen Garden B Blooms 62-piece tableware set is so pretty in person. It is layered on top of Wicker placemats and Blush-toned dinner plates. I use these plates for many table settings, including my Easter tablescape.
Fan out each napkin and secure it with woven napkin rings to match the wicker placemats. I purchased a gold stainless steel silverware set last year and use it in many of my tablescapes. It holds up well even after running it through the dishwasher. Last, I use candy pink stemware glasses. I have used this item for many of my tablescapes.
A Macaron Tree Centerpiece As Sweet As Mom
At the center of the table stands a pastel macaron tree, which brings in soft color and creates a whimsical focal point. You only need a styrofoam cone, toothpicks, macarons, and artificial flowers. I use flowers that match my color scheme, cutting them off their branches. First, push in the macarons. Next, add florals, baby’s breath, and some greenery.
Additionally, I placed macaron bites party favors for each guest, wrapping them in ribbon.
Details That Make It Personal
To keep things balanced, I avoided adding extra florals and instead brought in a pink dish filled with Jordan Almonds in pastel colors and candles. These additional elements add height, texture, and visual interest without competing with the florals in the backdrop. Framed 4×6 quote cards sit on either side of the macaron tree. Each has a handwritten note in gold font with the message “Thank you for everything, Mom” and “To the world, you are a mother. To our family, you are the world.” They’re heartfelt and straightforward and create meaningful moments around the table.
A Table That Says: “You Matter”
Whether you’re hosting brunch, dessert, or just morning coffee, this table is how we will celebrate Mom with flowers. 🌼🌺🌸
