A French Inspired Galentine’s Day Table

Galentine’s Day is the way I celebrate my gal pals. I have many different groups of friends whom I feel blessed to have in my life. I even have travel friends. In addition to family, it can be challenging to find a girlfriend who shares the same interests and travel wants. This year, I’m traveling to Paris with one of my girlfriends (We went to Sweden together). And that’s when it hit me: a French-inspired Galentine’s Day table.

Set the Scene

Paris is known as the City of Love. When I think of expressions of Paris, I think of flowers, hearts, bows, and bistro-inspired tableware. Naturally, there is a decorative Eiffel Tower figurine for an extra French touch.

My vision of a French-inspired Galentine’s Day table has many elements, layers, fabrics, and materials. I’m so excited to share this with my girlies.

A Foundation Filled with Charm

My grey wash dining room table lends itself to a rustic and charming feel. Add an x and o red paper table runner, to symbolize hugs and kisses. This is no longer available (it’s why I always shop far in advance). In lieu, I recommend a red table runner.

For dimension,  this three-tier marble and brass stand, IMO, says French Cafe. I wrapped it with this Mini heart flag garland to give it a Galentine’s Day feel. Next, I added red gingham hearts, white wooden love decor, and a gold Eiffel Tower statue. The bottom stand was perfect for these two pk heart ramekins filled with red M&M’s and conversation hearts. The ramekins were $3 for two at Target. They are sold out online. Try in person or at other craft stores like Michaels.

Hearts & Flowers- Ooh La La

Flowers are a must-have for Galentine’s Day, and roses take center stage. Arrange an assortment of red and white roses in a simple vase. Anything goes, but I went with these flowers in a burlap pot. You could use this  Valentine’s Berry Heart Table Tree as well. I added a red rose stem for the red bottle I had from Ikea. A comparable option is a swing glass bottle.

Plush white hearts are a nice touch scattered across the table. Finally, from last year, I used Valentine’s Day hearts on a stand—the gingham ties into the French country motif.

Elevate the Experience with Tableware

Now, let’s talk about tableware. The Bistro Tile Stoneware Dessert Plate: Valentine’s Edition is the star of the setting. Its intricate design makes it perfect for a French-inspired Galentine’s Day table. I chose a soft hue for the chargers, using cream-colored compostable party plates and red & gold plastic cutlery. Complete the setting with hand-painted Amorette heart flute glasses, which are ideal for toasting friendship. The Bistro stoneware vase matches the plates.

Accent Pieces

Don’t forget the details that make your guests feel extra special. I spelled out GALS on a shelf using gold bubble ceramic monogram letters. Across the top, I hung this Red puffy heart garland and 3D patterned hearts garland. The design on the hearts matches the gingham design on the table decor.

This heart-shaped serving board is perfect for the red velvet and vanilla Macaron cookies from Macaron Bites. They are authentic and remarkable! (of course, I had to sample them)
