Hanukkah is a time of joy, miracles, and gathering with loved ones. This year, design a table that illuminates the meaning of Hanukkah. The Hanukkah table will combine traditional and modern touches.
Centered around the Hamsa menorah, adorned with the uplifting words “love, family, happiness, and health,” the table radiates the warmth and protection associated with the Hamsa, a traditional symbol of safety and blessings. My decision to use Hamsas throughout the table felt right with the continuation of the war in Israel and an increase in antisemitism. There is no better time to pray for protection and safety.
The Festival of Lights
Lighting plays a key role, symbolizing the miracle of the oil that lasted eight days. Ensure your tablescape captures this essence by strategically placing candles, tealights, and votives to create soft, radiant light layers.
What better way to celebrate the Festival of Lights than by adding votives throughout the table? Ambient lighting is obtained with Star of David votives in an array of colors from Peace, Love Lights Shop. I purchase much of my Jewish decor from their shop. I encourage you to check them out. Incorporate Hamsa hand tealight holders to continue the protective motif and create a flickering glow.

Spinning into Celebration
A mix of blue and gold dreidels and foil-wrapped chocolate gelt scattered across the table adds playful touches together with festive tradition.
A Hanukkah Setting Filled with Light and Joy
Set each place with an Instagram-worthy gold charger plate accented by light blue velvet napkins secured with gold napkin rings for a chic, polished look.
The personalized paper plates came from Zazzle. Since blue is a symbolic color for Hanukkah, I went with light blue chargers and velvet napkins. Add in some blue wine glasses and a gold table runner for a stylish Hanukkah table with all of the Hanukkah symbols.
Complete your setup with Hanukkah ornaments nestled among the decorations. The combination of gold and blue hues—reminiscent of the Hanukkah story’s eternal flame—brings unity and harmony to the table.
This tablescape is more than just decor—it’s a celebration of the blessings and traditions of Hanukkah. With symbols of protection, love, and light, it invites everyone to share in the joy and miracles of the season.
I created a Hanukkah list on Amazon for many of the products above.
Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach!
