An Elegant and Meaningful Passover Tablescape

Blend Tradition with Modern Glamour

Passover begins on sundown in less than two weeks. This year, I’m excited to present my Passover table. Of course, it includes the traditional items, including the Seder plate (in the shape of a Hamsa) and the matzah cover. I also combined gold and blue color schematics. We are almost 20 people. For a large group, we use disposables. That does not mean you can’t have an elegant and meaningful Passover table.

If you want to zhuzh up your table without worrying about clean up, I’m here to show you how.

The Hamsa Seder Plate: A Symbol of Blessings

The Seder plate is a tradition at the Passover table. This ceramic serving set holds symbolic foods, such as a roasted lamb shank bone, parsley, bitter herbs, and an egg. Last year, I purchased this Hamsa Blue 7-Piece Hand of Fatima, which consists of one large plate and six smaller serving or dipping plates. The plates create a bright, colorful hamsa hand that symbolizes peace, prosperity, and protection. It is perfect as a seder plate.

A Personalized Touch: The Customized Haggadah Cover

Our family uses a  traditional Hagaddah. I create a cover based on my table decor. This year, my cover design matches my table runner. You can make your own on Canva, or you can print out mine. For the paper, this Navy blue Kraft paper roll works wonderfully. Print them from any laser printer using these Avery 3” x 3” labels (94101).

Layering Elegance

I am mixing metallics and classic dinnerware for this elegant and meaningful Passover table. Start with this White Damask tablecloth. Next, layer on a 9 Ft. Metallic Gold/Navy blue foil Geometric pattern table runner. Set the mood for your Passover Seder with the warm glow of candlelight. I arranged elegant taper candles. I also used Star of David Blue Votive Holders holding tealight candles. They are available in a dusk collection, but that still works. This adds warmth to your tablescape.  They symbolize the light of freedom that we celebrate on Passover.

Mixing Metallics and Classic Dinnerware For A Luxurious Look

First, place these elegant Gold Floral Embossed Plate Chargers. Top that with plates that match the table runner. These Navy Blue and Gold Brushed 10-pack Plastic dinner plates and matching  Navy Blue and Gold Brushed 10-pack plastic dessert/appetizer plates add more glamour. I topped it with smaller gold star plates so the guests could dip their pinky fingers in the wine and place a drop on their plate ten times to represent the ten plagues.

The Navy Blue and Gold Dinner Napkins and napkin rings tie in the navy and gold accents throughout this elegant and meaningful Passover table.

Last, I placed Gold silverware. The set includes forks, knives, a soup spoon, and a dessert spoon.

A Toast To Freedom

It is hard to fathom that it has been over 500 days and we still have 59 hostages in captivity. The importance of toasting their freedom is more meaningful today. I am using these elegant Navy colored crystal wine glasses for smaller gatherings. With our large gathering, I will substitute disposable wine glasses with gold-rimmed disposable plastic cups.

I have created an Amazon list of most items above, excluding the Hamsa plate for the symbolic food at the Seder.

Final Touches

I placed white sunflowers on the table in a nod to spring. The vase I used on my Easter table also works well for Passover. Here is a video to show you the the complete table.

A Passover to Remember

I am excited to share this Passover with friends and family from the United States. The importance of gathering with loved ones inspired me to create this elegant and meaningful Passover table.

From my family to yours, Happy Pesach!
