Bring the Charm of the Amalfi Coast to Your Table
An Amalfi Coast-inspired table works great for birthday parties, baby showers, bridal showers, or summer soirees. I chose this theme for our mom’s 93rd birthday since our menu was Italian food. Having been to the Amalfi Coast, Positano specifically, designing this table brought back many great memories.
Lemons, Blues & Coastal Elegance
Amalfi Coast decor includes lemons, blue tiles, and white linens. If you go to the Amalfi Coast, you will notice that the decor creates a vibrant Mediterranean aesthetic.
I use white linen tablecloths as a natural element in the Mediterranean. Place a blue-striped table runner down the center as a nod to the coast. Lemons, the symbol of the Amalfi coast, play a vital role as a centerpiece vase with artificial lemon branches.
Next, add some well-known blue and white majolica-patterned tiles, a mix of floral and geometric designs. Four miniature artificial lemon plants placed in a blue tile box replicate this. They’re made from laminated paper and hold up well.
Finally, I fill mini glass bud vases with blue mums from the local market.
Amalfi Coast-Inspired Place Settings
For the place settings, first start with a gold charger. I love the layered look of a place setting. Next, I use the Capri Coast table setting from Sophistiplate, which is perfect for staying with the theme. They have other complementary items, including a ceramic serving tray with handles and lemon place cards. These will work well for larger events like bridal and baby showers.
When Life Gives You Limoncello, Make A Splash
At the end of each meal in Italy, we were given a shot of Limoncello. Italians drink limoncello after dinner to aid digestion and celebrate good health. While looking for decor items, I came across party favors that contained small bottles of Limoncello with tags.
My timing was off to order them, so I did the next best thing: make them. I bought small 5 oz. bottles with a cap and PVC shrink capsules with a gold tear tab.
Each bottle was filled with Limoncello, purchased from the local liquor store. Next, I designed tags on Canva to wrap around the next of each bottle. Avery sells tags on Amazon that are easy to run through your printer. You can transfer your creative to the Avery template and print. Even the holes can be pushed out. It saves so much time when designing gift tags.
The tags come with string, but I chose blue and white twine. And because I tend to level up, I purchased lemon charms to hang on the string.
They looked great! I made a Limoncello Spritz for the beverage that night. Recipe cards were included for each guest to go with the bottles.
