A Small 4th of July Get Together

Whether you’re hosting a large party or having friends and family over, setting a July 4th table is essential for capturing the spirit of Independence Day. There are creative ways to make your  July 4th table sparkle & shine. It will impress your guests and create unforgettable memories. Show off your American flair, from stars and stripes to sparkly accents.

This table is for a smaller gathering. For larger parties, you can set up a Fourth of July buffet table with appetizers, desserts, snacks, and drinks.

Red, White, and Blue Centerpieces

Start by creating centerpieces that celebrate the colors of the American flag. I lean more toward vintage decor. For a rustic touch, arrange a mix of red, white, and blue straws in mason jars and July 4th-themed wood candle holders with LED lights. Incorporate miniature American flags, sparklers, or patriotic-themed ornaments for a whimsical flair. I found these 4th of July ornament balls and glitter stars at HomeGoods, but you can get them at Mercari. Ceramic bowls can be filled with red, white, and blue candy. I also am using stars and stripes treat boxes. Those can be filled with popcorn or fresh fruit. They make a great addition to any outdoor gathering. It includes 12 food-safe and strong boxes that are 5.5” in height. The total cost is only $6.79.

Festive Tableware

Elevate your table with patriotic-themed place settings. Use red chargers and blue chargers plate chargers as the base, and layer with the Wavy dinner plate Americana from Sophistiplate for the dinner plate and Hamptons Navy Floral paper plate for dessert. A vintage look was my vision. I used the Hamptons Navy Gingham and Red Stripe guest towels. I used red & gold and blue & gold plastic cutlery from Sophistiplate. You can also get them on Amazon from eFavormart, another vendor I work with. (red & gold/blue & gold).

The metallic patriotic red, white & blue plastic cups serve drinks perfectly.

Decorations

Hang a stars and stripes fabric garland around the table. For depth, I used Rustic white wooden crates and topped them with these 4th of July ornament balls and glitter stars from HomeGoods, but you can get them at Mercari. It is great for hanging seasonal decor if you want to use an over-the-table rod stand.

Get crafty and create your DIY decorations to add a personal touch to your table. Paint mason jars in patriotic colors to use as utensil holders.

Ambient Lighting

Set the mood with ambient lighting that adds warmth and coziness to your celebration. Scatter tea light candles or LED candles throughout the table. My collection of Star of David blue and white votives, and the red one I got at Target, came in handy. They added to the red, white, and blue vibes. You can also add these Independence Day wood candle holders with LED batteries.

Patriotic Treats

Delight your guests with patriotic-themed treats and favors they can enjoy throughout the festivities. Serve classic American desserts like red, white, and blue fruit skewers, popcorn, and 4th of July cookies.  These stars and stripes treat boxes are perfect for guests to fill up on desserts and snacks.
