So Many Spring Sports, So Little Spring!

Spring is sports time too. After an always phenomenal football season for the Dawgs, fans tend to shift their focus to other sports to keep their Bulldawg Pride alive. While football may be the most well-known college sport played, there are really so many other teams that can get overlooked. Football season is in the fall, so the Spring semester is their time to shine!

However, you don’t want to miss the spring football game that is slated in late April every year. G-Day is one of the biggest Spring Events of the year and is no different from a Fall Saturday in Athens. You can find more information about this free event on our blog G-Day Spring Game. Some of the popular spring sports include baseball, basketball, hockey, gymnastics, track and field, golf, tennis, swimming, diving, and soccer. UGA has a mix of both the men and women teams for these fun sports. HaveUHeard that UGA lets all students into most games (except football) for FREE? Yup! It’s true! When you show your student ID at baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, swimming, gymnastics, softball, etc. you are granted free admission into the game and sometimes for big games, you will receive free t-shirts, free food, and fun prizes for coming to support.

The men’s basketball and women’s basketball team have come a long way and students get hyped for their games. All of the games are on TV. They play in the Stegeman Coliseum right on campus and as stated above, tickets are free for students! Get some friends together and head over to their next game. Another great team at UGA is the Baseball team. They play on campus at Foley Field behind Stegeman Coliseum and students get in free to these games too! UGA’s Gym Dog meets are some of the most fun events on campus and sell out Stegeman faster than any other sporting event. Make sure you catch a gymnastics meet while you are a student, they are super interactive and full of freebies for students, you really don’t want to miss these. You can find a calendar complete with all UGA spring sports game times and dates.
