There is So Much You Can Do For Entertainment!

There is more than just football or basketball for entertainment around UMD; in fact, the best part about Maryland is there’s always something to do. Now that’s entertainment! Some of my favorite activities range from sightseeing, walking or hanging out around College Park or Washington D.C., the nightlife, and going out to eat!

Bethesda Row– This is one of my favorite areas near campus to go for good shopping and even better food. This outside shopping area has so much to offer including a movie theater, Shops, an Apple store, salons, and many restaurants.

Bowlero– Bowling is a great way to stay entertained! Bowlero offers food and drinks to ensure maximum fun!

Georgetown Waterfront Park– Georgetown is one of my favorite areas to go when I am in Washington D.C. Not only is it a beautiful place to hang out along the water, but there are so many great restaurants, bars, and boutiques to go to.

Lake Artemesia– If you are looking to have some nice, peaceful, time outside, Lake Artemesia is the place to go. There are more than two miles of hiker-biker trails, areas to have a picnic, and of course, you can fish in the lake!

Là Tao Hot Pot– For a classic activity, grab some friends and get ready for some karaoke. This restaurant serves great sushi and Japanese style cuisine and has a party room with karaoke! You can never go wrong with some good food and seeing your friends attempt to sing.

National Zoo- The national zoo is one of the most popular tourist locations and is a great place to visit. The zoo is free to visit (great for us college students) and has many interesting exhibits to take advantage of.

Regal Hyattsville Royale- Going to the movies is always a great idea! This movie theater is super close to campus allowing students to watch all the new movies in theaters.

Museums- Being in such close proximity to D.C. means that there are so many great museums nearby to visit and appreciate. Whether you are interested in history, art, or even spies, there is a museum for everyone!

Union Market– Located in Washington D.C, a 20-minute drive from campus, Union Market is the place to go shopping, eat, drink, and hang out. This trendy spot in D.C. features over 40 local vendors and has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Westfield Montgomery Mall- This is one of the closest malls to campus is one of my favorite places to go. This mall is huge and has everything from shops, a full movie theater, bowling alley, food court, and more.
