Transfer to UNF

You Can Change Your Mind and Transfer

It is not uncommon for students to start at one university and find that it is not the place for them or to begin their college journey at a local community college and transfer to a larger school at the right time.  Transferring to UNF can be done as a lower-level student, upper-level student or from a partner school.

Lower Level Student

Lower-level students are defined as those with fewer than 60 hours of college coursework. In order to be accepted as a transfer student, they must satisfy the same admission requirements as incoming freshman applicants and have a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.0 (“C”) or higher and in good standing.  They must complete an admissions application, pay a $30 application fee, send their official high school transcripts and all SAT/ACT test scores and official post-secondary transcripts as well.

Transfer students may apply for entrance into the spring, summer or fall semesters. Students may apply for admission up to one year in advance of their intended enrollment term. The deadline for summer 2020 is June 1st and the deadline for fall 2020 is July 1st.  The deadline for transfer students can change so check with admissions after applying.

Upper Level Student

Upper-level students are defined as those who have completed an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree at a Florida public post-secondary institution (university, community, state, or junior college.)  They must have completed a minimum of 60 transferable semester hours. In order to be considered, students must meet a cumulative college GPA of 2.0 or higher, including a “C” or higher average and “good standing” status at the most recent college attended.  They must complete an application, pay $30 application fee, receive their official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, including dual enrollment credits from high school and any other AP, CLEP or similar test transcripts. Priority consideration will be given to applicants who have earned the A.A. degree.
