Young Jewish Adults Israel Trip
What exactly is Birthright Israel? Birthright Israel began in 1999 with a bold idea—offering a free, life-changing trip to Israel to young Jewish adults between the ages of 18 and 26 and, in doing so, transforming the Jewish future.
Their mission is to give every Jewish young adult around the world, especially the less connected, the opportunity to visit Israel on an educational trip. Today, Birthright Israel is the largest educational tourism organization in the world and it aims to strengthen Jewish identity, communities, and connection with Israel. Each 10 trip is 100% funded by 30,000+ donors each year. Both of my sons went on Birthright in the last five years and had an amazing time. They went with some friends that they knew from school and also met some new friends as well. The experience of Birthright is one that they will remember always.
UNF does not have a Hillel organization on campus but the UNF Interfaith Center does have information about Birthright. They can also pre-register through Jewish Ospreys Chabad’s Taglit-Birthright Israel. They can even refer their friends and they will try to keep them in the same group. They will have trips running from December 2019 through March 2020 and from May 2020 through September 2020.
Camel Rides, Rafting down Jordan River, Visit the Western Wall, Float in the Dead Sea, Waterfalls of the Golan Heights and Climbing Masada. Both of my boys loved climbing Masada, although covering themselves in mud from the Dead Sea and eating Israeli food was a highlight as well.
