Thanksgiving is Almost Here
We are getting closer and closer to Thanksgiving. By far, this is my favorite holiday. The main reason is that it is one of the few holidays when my family is together. That is why this year is all about the Gathered Table Thanksgiving style.

A Seasonal Thanksgiving Tablescape
My vision for this year’s Thanksgiving table was to create a season-inspired table. Traditionally, Thanksgiving is about the fall harvest. Tables include fall leaves, pumpkins, acorns, pilgrims, cornucopia, and earth tones. Additionally, the words“thankful” and “grateful” will be prominently featured.
Thanksgiving Dinnerware
I purchased the table settings from My Minds Eye. Most of the items on their website are on sale, so I recommend grabbing them now. After cooking for several days, disposable settings are perfect for large gatherings. Specifically, my Thanksgiving table included:

Thanksgiving Decor
There are many ways to create a warm and inviting table aesthetic. You can modify my table choices at stores such as Michael’s and Dollar Tree. Similar items are available at many craft stores. Check out my Amazon list for some options. Additionally, I found these fall decorative glass bottles at Dollar Tree. Most stores in my area are sold out, but I would still check for more inventory.
For the seasonal-inspired table, I used a fall leaf garland from Michael’s. I grabbed some Pinecones to scatter between the garland and weaved maple leaf string lights through it to create more layers.
Thanksgiving Table Rod
First, I decorated the table rod stand with a 6 ft Autumn Orange, yellow Dahlia, and pumpkin garland. Next, I strung Warm white LED acorn String lights through the garland. Finally, I hung two 27″ Fall Orange Velvet Pumpkin Stems, adding dimension to the Thanksgiving table.
Thanksgiving Blessings
As you gather for Thanksgiving, it is time to count your blessings. There is so much suffering in the world, and many are hurting. If you feel blessed, consider donating your time or money.
- Volunteer at a soup kitchen.
- Donate a Thanksgiving dinner.
- Open your home to those who have nowhere to go.
We are all better when we lift each other up. A woman in our community organizes charitable events around holidays and special occasions. This year, we have a list of nonperishable items to purchase for a Thanksgiving dinner basket. Each basket cost me $36. Ironically, eighteen is the numerical match for chai, which means “life.” It is traditional to donate that amount or multiples of that amount.
