Students Love Veggies, Vegetarian, and Vegan Options
It seems to me that more people are becoming vegetarians or vegans. I recently tried vegan cheese and am delighted to report that I liked it! HaveUHeard that 1 in every 10 college students follow a vegetarian or vegan diet? It seems college students are more likely than the general public to follow a vegetarian or vegan diet, so we wanted to be sure they knew where to locate their options. Veggies are good and good for you. Sometimes the choices on or around campus just aren’t that healthy. So more veggies, please! My daughter was a vegetarian for about two years until she could no longer resist a big, juicy burger. Now she is a vegetarian most of the time with an occasional burger or piece of chicken. Whichever way works for your student; the good news there is plenty of veggies around the campuses.
For those that also like to cook, there are many meal kits that cater to vegan and vegetarians these days too. Some of our personal favorites are Dinnerly, Green Chef, Hungry Root, Hello Fresh, Veestro, and Purple Carrot.
We know there are plenty of options for unhealthy eating and treats on and around campus, so we searched out each university and its surrounding communities to find selections for everyone and, possibly, encourage healthy eating. We found that every school has incorporated vegetarian options in the menus in their dining halls.
